Step 1: Determine Income Eligibility

• Make sure your income falls within the required range for the state’s income-based grant system.

Step 2: Contact Workforce Connection of New Mexico 

• Locate and contact the Workforce Connection office in your county.

• Let them know you're interested in applying for the income-based tuition grant.

• Visit the office in person for more direct assistance.

Step 3: Attend Mandatory Orientation

• Once you express interest, you’ll be scheduled to attend a mandatory orientation session.

Step 4: Complete the Application Packet

• You’ll be given an application packet to fill out during or after orientation. 

Step 5: Gather Required Documents

• High School Diploma or GED, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate and Driver’s License.

• Proof of income (depending on your case manager, this could be recent W-2 forms or last month’s pay stubs).

• Provide all required documents to the case manager at your Workforce Connection office.

Step 7: We Send Invoice & Class Schedule

• Once your documents are submitted and approved, we will send over the invoice and class schedule to Workforce Connection.
